Biography
The
recipient of a major screenwriting grant from the Alfred P. Sloan foundation,
Norm focused on screenwriting, directing and documentary filmmaking while
studying at the University of Southern California, where he received his
MFA in film production in 2003.
Norm wrote and directed “Hook, Line and Singer” –
a comedic exploration of what it takes to ‘make it’ in the music
industry. He was mentored on the project by Academy Award winner Mark Harris.
Norm also directed the pilot episode of the USC produced Sit-Com “God
Help Us.”
Prior to USC, Norm attended Williams College, studying jazz, music
composition and German. After Williams, Norm spent a year teaching English
in Vienna, Austria on a Fulbright Grant. Concurrently with his graduate
studies, Norm also taught German at USC as an assistant lecturer.
Born and raised in the woods of Western Massachusetts without running
water, electricity or television, Norm currently resides in Los Angeles
while working as a screenwriter, director and voice over artist. He has
electricity, TV and plumbing now and has finally mastered concepts such as "channels"
and "remote control."
